Job Title: Instrumentation & Electrical Technician Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical System Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine and corrective maintenance on HV, MV, and LV switchgear, power and distribution transformers, prime and standby generator packages, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and bus transfer systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including soft starters, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control centres (MCC), UPS systems (AC/DC), frequency converters, and inverters.
- Maintain and repair cable management systems, including cable containment, power/control cabling, and specialized explosion-proof lighting systems in classified areas.
- Distributed Control & Automation Systems:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and support Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) used in terminal operations.
- Ensure the proper functioning of SCADA, pipeline monitoring, and leak detection systems, nitrogen generator, compressors, chiller units.
- Assist in integrating control systems with asset management systems, tank gauging systems, and truck loading/unloading systems.
- Hazardous Area Electrical Installations:
- Support the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems in hazardous areas, ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards.
- Install and maintain explosion-proof lighting systems and other critical electrical infrastructure in classified areas.
- Asset Management & Systems Optimization:
- Oversee and optimize the operation of compressor control systems, substation automation, and tank gauging and inventory management systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and checks on the facility’s security systems, including CCTV, public address, access control systems.
- Cable & Communication Systems:
- Ensure the installation and maintenance of fibre optic data networks.
- Work on various electrical infrastructure related to power and control cabling, ensuring high standards of operations, protection, and system reliability.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities, commissioning, and modifications to electrical and control systems.
- Prepare and submit reports on system performance, fault analysis, maintenance schedules, and any major operational issues.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Follow all safety and regulatory standards to ensure the safety of personnel and the integrity of the equipment as per industry standards.
- Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with power distribution systems (transformers, switchgear, VFDs, motor control centres, UPS).
- Expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining DCS, PLC, SCADA.
- Knowledge of pipeline monitoring, leak detection, compressor control systems, and tank gauging/inventory management systems.
- Experience with fibre optic networks.
- Understanding of electrical installations in hazardous areas and explosion-proof systems.
- Ability to work with automation systems, asset management, and security systems (CCTV, public address).
