Key Accountabilities

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Ensure that the work carried out complies with international construction codes, project specifications, tender, work instructions, procedure and manuals as appropriate.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections in shop and on-board
  • Participation in work identification as required
  • Carry out material inspection of mechanical equipment & other miscellaneous items
  • Inspection of the installation of rotating Machineries like Pumps, Skid, Main Engines, Thrusters, Propeller etc
  • Conducting through stage-wise inspection as per procedures / codes as well as alignment & assembly of equipment at site during installation
  • Witness Chock Fasting of main Machineries, Knowledge in valve overhauling and testing.
  • Witness Load testing of Mechanical Machineries, Pad Eyes, Trolley Beams, and cranes etc
  • Witness torque inspection for bolting of main Machineries
  • Witness quality related testing’s like Hardness testing, Crush Testing, Roughness testing etc
  • Hands on experience on Precision instruments like Micrometers, Vernier Caliper, Gauges etc. Carryout inspections for HVAC system.
  • Coordinate and liaise with classification society, third party inspection agencies, Ship superintendents and other trades, to ensure adherence to related standards
  • Stop processes if they do not meet specified requirements, raise occurrence report, develop corrective and preventive action and ensure that rework is carried out to customer satisfaction
  • Collecting, updating and filing all relevant inspection records.

Qualification/Experiences & Skills

Knowledge of mechanical inspection testing techniques, standards and HVAC & mechanical drawing.

Should be conversant with applicable inspection, testing techniques and standards.

Degree / Diploma in relevant field
